Why a pipe, and why Ahmedabad

James Law’s OPod Tube House, shown in Hong Kong, put a small home inside a concrete pipe and made the idea public. OPod India is not that studio. We are an independent team asking a narrower question: can a one-person, rental-first pod be planned honestly for Ahmedabad?

Why this city

Ahmedabad has students, industrial shifts around Sanand and Naroda, a busy railway and airport, and professionals who already pay for quiet hours. That mix is the audience. It is not proof of demand. The first two weeks of the plan are for conversations, not construction.

We have not built a unit, we have not been granted a building permission, and the map pins in this product are demo data. The photographs of pipes on this site are design studies, except where a caption names a photographer and a real place such as the Sabarmati riverfront.
